Emplazada en el barrio nobiliario de la Villa Medieval, junto a la Iglesia de Santa María La Mayor de La Asunción, de origen románico y de esbelto campanario, el templo más destacado de Trujillo por culto, enterramiento de los linajes más antiguos y edificio-; enclavada en el recinto amurallado de la Villa, donde predominan, por privilegio de Conquista, blasonadas, las casas solariegas con escudos; la casa natal del Descubridor, solar de su nobleza, Francisco de Orellana, edificada en el siglo XV; atalayada por su torre almenada, con arco apuntado en la portada bajo los diez roeles del escudo de los Orellana, ofrece el testimonio de una Ciudad que vivió durante siglos el protagonismo de su momento histórico.
Cercana a la Plaza Mayor, placeada de palacios, una de las más hermosas plazas renacentistas del siglo XVI.
Ciudad natal del Conquistador del Perú, Francisco Pizarro, y del Descubridor del Amazonas, Francisco de Orellana; Trujillo, cuna de conquistadores, se encuentra situado entre el Tajo y el Guadiana. A pocos kilómetros de Cáceres, Guadalupe, Yuste, Mérida y Badajoz , en plena autovía Madrid – Lisboa. Su majestuoso Castillo se divisa desde varios Km. alrededor.
La Casa ha sido pergeñada por el afamado decorador Duarte Pinto Coehlo.
